Family reunions are also notorious for some delicious food! Here's one of my mom's old recipes that you can share with your family!
Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk (sweet milk or sour milk)
1 3/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsps. baking powder, 1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
3 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1 cups raisins (optional)
1/2 cups chopped nuts
Bake at 400 degrees for 18-20 minutes
