Ah, at long last it's the first day of September!  That means for any fashion lover, it's pretty much your holiday month.  The Mercedes-Benz NYFW is September 8-15, and I can't wait to watch the runway shows online.  One day I'll actually make it to New York for the events.  In the mean time, I'll settle for the following:  shopping with my "fashion sisters" on Labor Day, reading thru my favorite fashion magazines, and praying that the temps will finally cool down so I can start wearing the fall trends that I'm loving right now.  Happy September!

Glam Beauty: Winged-Tip Eyeliner

One Fall beauty trend I'm already enjoying is the winged-tip eyeliner look.  I use Ulta's automatic eyeliner in black.  Begin from a little outside of the outer corner of your eyelid and work inwards.  Keep the line subtle and soft and don't extend too much.  This is a simple trick to use and can be worn day or night.  Finish with a few coats of mascara (I like Loreal's Voluminous Million Lashes & Revlon's Grow Luscious by Fabulash) and you're done!

Red Carpet Glam: 2011 MTV Video Music Awards

So while there may not be many actual MUSIC videos that MTV plays much anymore...they still somehow found a way to have the annual awards show.  I mainly watched it for the fashions, and to see what wacky mishaps would occur.  Here are some of my favorite looks from last night.  Oh and the best moment award goes to BEYONCE for announcing her pregnancy! My Saturday...

Besides having to work at my second job, I still have time to do a few relaxing things today (cooking, cleaning, etc.).  I'm in the process of redecorating my aparartment over the next couple of months, so it looks a complete mess right now.  I have clothes still on my floor from when I cleaned out my closet, and furniture that's going to be sold or given away.  I can't wait until my apartment has the glam look that I want it to have!  I'm taking a cue from the Kardashians (eh...) and doing a black, white and gray theme with accents of gold.  So in the meantime I've got a lot of work to do...what are your plans this

Essential Items for Fall 2011

Now that I've cleaned out my closet seen here, I plan on updating it with the above items.  These are all classic pieces and pretty much work for any body type.  Update your standard button down white shirt with a front tie style , try a blazer in a fall color and trade in your skinnys for trousers!  Accesorize with a pair of hoops with intricate details, a sleek structured handbag, and some leopard print ballet flats.  Glam your fingertips up with one of Chanel's new nail colors for Fall in "Graphite".  What items are you updating your wardrobe with?

Closet Confessions...

I'd finally had enough of my closet looking a mess and decided to clean it out and completely reorganize it.  The above picture is my sketch of the layout of my closet, where I was going to put things, and what organizers I needed.  I'm a visual person, so seeing what it would look like was neccessary to help put it together.  Some people do "spring cleaning", well I do a "fall cleaning" as well.  This way I'll know which hot fall trends I need to add to my closet!
