Ok, so I realize I've been a little M.I.A. lately, but it's because I've been working on redecorating my apartment. It started with the cleaning of my closet, and now I've moved on to my bedroom and bathroom. There's still a few extra little things that I want to add as far as decoration and organization, but for the most part those two rooms are done. Next up are my bigger projects: living room and dining room/kitchen, where I have some major plans for those rooms! My theme is black and white/ivory, with a few accents of color in artwork. I can't wait until it's all finished!

So, we finally got some rain here in Texas...it was like the sky was backed up (for a lack of better words) and decided to just open up and pour down. I for one am not complaining because we definitely need it. Maybe it will usher in the Fall season...eh, probably not, but one can dream right? However just because it's ugly outside, doesn't mean you still can't be glam. These are some items I'd wear (this leopard print trench is on my "to buy" list for sure) to stay dry and still look great. Happy Friday!
Banana Republic low rise jeans, $90
Jimmy Choo buckle boots, $375
Forever21 knitted shawl, $11
Banana Republic The Mad Men Collection Leopard Print Trench, $198
Target:Missoni for Target® Umbrella - Colore, $50

Aldo leopard print bag, Banana Republic top and belt, Limited flared jeans, Express shoes, H&M ring, Betsey Johnson bracelet
For an impromptu middle of the week date night to the movies, I decided to throw on two of my favorite trends for this season. My love of leopard print and polka dots as seen here and here. Going out in the middle of the week rather than typically on a Friday or Saturday night was fun. Nice way to break up the work week. Whew, it's only Wednesday.

Between working two jobs it sometimes gets difficult to have a little "me" time to 'relax, relate, release' (if you watched A Different World you know this quote). I finally had a whole day off, and I chose to spend it on catching up on New York Fashion Week and a little self-pampering. I spent the early afternoon into the evening watching the live streams of Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenburg, and Tracy Reese. Ah such lovely collections for Spring/Summer 2012. (I will post pictures later this week if you missed it.) Then I headed over to ULTA to finally purchase a couple of Essie polishes from the fall collection that I've been dying to get. Yes, I have an addiction to nail polishes, but sometimes it's the little things that make me happy. After my few hours of
being in la-la Fashionland quiet time and relaxing I realized it was time to get up and start getting my mind ready for work in the morning. Happy Monday everyone! Oh and if you want get in on the LiveRunway, head on over to youtube.com/liverunway!

Part of being "glam" is giving back to your community and being active and involved. Today my coworkers and I participated in the annual American Heart Association walk in Fort Worth. I did the walk last year, and this year was equally as fun. Instead of being downtown like last year, the walk took place in the Stockyards Station. This was my first time being down there and let me say, Fort Worth is TRULY "Cowtown"! Here are some pictures of sightings from along the walk path. Happy Saturday everyone!
We made it!

H&M blazer and pants, Express tank, XAppeal heels, all other accessories seen here
In the spirit of back to school and cooler weather, I was feeling a little nostalgic and decided to head over to the playground. Childish? No, I say Fun! So go ahead, break away from the everyday stresses and slide down a slide, or swing blissfully through the air! Oh yes, and Fashion Week officially begins tomorrow!

Today was the first back to work after a long weekend, but I wasn't quite ready to completely buckle down so I convinced (it wasn't that difficult, haha) my co-worker to go to Taco Cabana with me for lunch. I mean really, who couldn't resist getting out and away from your cubicle and flouresent lights to get a bit of fresh air and sun? It was another gorgeous day with cooler temps and not a cloud in sight, and I happen to be a fan of days like this. I've also found that dressing nice and putting myself together a little bit helps me to be in better spirits. How does it go, "you look good, you feel good"? Even just wearing a new perfume or lip gloss and make you put a little pep in your step. You have my permission to try it. In the meantime, I'm getting myself back in the gym because I've slacked off for the last week! Have a good 4-day week everyone!

I woke up this morning to a bee-auti-ful surprise! How about it only being 79 degrees, rather than 109 degrees in the North Texas area today? It was a little windy as well, so it felt SO good outside. Perfect weather for going shopping with my "fashion sister"! I'm not sure if it's healthy that we shop together because we both have expensive taste and love clothes and accessories and like to convince each other to buy things. Ha, HA! Our first store that we went to was the newly opened H&M in Dallas. Love this store, but my goodness the lines to the fitting rooms and checkouts were out the door. It literally looked like Black Friday. WHEW. All in all it was a great day of picking up some fall items. My closet now looks like a fabulous rainbow of fall 2011 color trends: tans, burgandy, and bright red. However, it's back to work and back to reality tomorrow, aah *sigh*.

Funny how on 3-day holiday weekends most of us tend to actually do MORE labor than a regular weekend. We try to squeeze in as many fun activities (housework, mini-vacations, cookouts, etc.) that we end up needing an extra day to recover. Even though I'm not
stuffing my face in a last hurrah for summer having a cookout, I decided to browse through Pinterest for some pictures of typical summer foods. Enjoy the bbqs, a dip in the pool, and suntanning because pretty soon we'll be snuggled under blankets by the fireplace and baking turkeys....mmmm I can't wait!
Really, who doesn't love chicken??
A pretty table setting...these could be lemonades or beers, I'll take either one.
I am a true lover of french fries and these homemade ones look DELISH!
So pretty and refreshing...kiwis, raspberries, peaches...yum!

Francesca's Collections top, necklace and bracelets; Express earrings, jeans and shoes; Banana Republic belt and snakeskin purse, Mossimo watch; Orly polish in "Coffee Break"
It's only the first weekend in September, but I just couldn't wait any longer to start wearing some fall colors! Next week's forecast is supposed to be cooler temps, and by cooler I mean not over 105 degrees every single day. *sigh*

I love the tile on the wall here...hmm, I need this in my kitchen.
oh, how I love my animal print!
I will be working, shopping, blogging, and spending time with friends. What are your plans? Have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend everyone!
