For Auld Lang Syne...So long, 2011!

As I look back, 2011 has been a happy and productive year for me.  But honestly, the past 364 days have literally FLOWN by.  Seriously.  Like, I think my brain is still stuck on about July or August, and I'm trying to catch up.  HA.  So, how are you spending the last day of 2011 come this Saturday evening?  Intimate dinner?  Huge party?  House party?  Traveling? Staying in and watching Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve with popcorn and champagne (sounds nice to me actually)?  I've yet to make it to New York City to see the ball drop...maybe next year?  Well, whatever your plans are, stay safe, wear your shiniest and glammest, (yes, I just made that a word?) sequins and don't drive drunk!  Happy New Year to your and yours!  See you in 2012!

Spring 2012 Outlook: PEPLUMS!

Ok, first off this trend reminds me of the dresses my Barbie's had when I was little.  Ha!  Anyway, one of the trends for Spring 2012 is going to be peplums.  I'm already seeing them in the spreads in the January '12 Vogue.  Hopefully I can find a way to incorporate this into my wardrobe, because I kind of like it.  I'm thinking maybe a peplum top, and skinny pants and tall stillettos, yes?  Or maybe a crisp white tee and bright color peplum skirt?

Birthday Celebrations and all that...

Two days ago I turned the big 2-6! Ha!  Goodness, I'm on the downhill of my twenties, aka closer to 30! Eek!  Anyway, I spent the rainy day lounging around, watching movies and doing some last minute shopping.  Later that night I had a nice, quiet dinner with my boyfriend at Pappadeaux.  As I get older, I find that I'm less attracted to being at noisy, crowded clubs, and prefer doing more laid back things and being able to connect and have intelligent conversations.  Hmmph.  With that said, it was a good relaxing birthday and I look forward to the next year!

Party Season Make-Up

So many parties to go to this time of year!  Whether you're under dim lights at an intimate party, or at your company's party, you may be wearing sequins and glitter but you don't want the shine on your face too.  I found some really great face moisturizer that keeps away the oil on your face and it lasts the whole day.  I did find that I can't wear it alone (without makeup) because it leaves a white residue on my skin.  However, under makeup it helps give my face a nice matte look and my face isn't oily and greasy.

My Wish List

My birthday is in less than two weeks and even though I'm thankful for another year of life, I'm not exactly thrilled to be getting closer to 30.  Eeek!  Anyway, I compiled a list of goodies that would make me the happiest 26 year old on the planet!  If you're feeling generous during this season of giving, you're more than welcome to add me to your shopping list.  :-)  I kid, I kid.
