Since the 4th of July holiday falls on a Wednesday this year (thank you leap year...NOT), there will be no three day weekend involved over here for me. Booo. I do still get a the day off. Yay! Glam Kitchen | Honey + Soy Glazed Salmon

Honey glazed anything usually gets my attention in a recipe, so when I was searching for something to cook the other day, this recipe definitely caught my eye! Seafood is one of my favorite foods so I was eager to try this. I have since also tried this honey and soy mixture over shrimp and chicken and it is yummy as well!

Ingredients: Honey, Soy Sauce, Lime, Dijon Mustard

Wisk ingredients together in a bowl

Grill salmon in skillet (I used olive oil)

Drizzle the glaze over the salmon

Enjoy!

This linen (great summer fabric) blazer, goes perfectly with my skinny jeans and shorts for summer on the weekends, and I can also wear it to work.  Win, win, right?  Don't tell me you haven't borrowed something old and made it work!? ;-)

Fresh Florals

Happy Monday!  What better way to begin the week than with some fresh flowers?  I've had these old wine bottles for a while and decided to use them to put some flowers in them for my dining room table.  I bought some rafia at the local craft store for about $3 and spruced up the bottles a bit to add a light summer look to my dining area!  Have great week everyone!

Supplies: flowers (you can use any kind), rafia, sissors, wine bottles

Cut the rafia according to the length for your design

Tie rafia around bottles

Fill the bottles with water

I chose to tie the rafia into bows, but of course you can get more design ideas from Pinterest as well! 

Friday's Fabulous Find: Cobalt Blue

It is now officially summer, even though it's already felt like it for the last two months!  Ha!  Nothing says summer to me more than the color blue.  I think of the blue water of the oceans and lakes, and just everything about the color feels refreshing and cool!  Here I'm showing you three different ways you can incorporate the color for the season!  Happy Friday everyone and thanks so much for reading!  Not following yet? DIY: Gold & Silver Trays

I saw this idea on the GlitterGuide a few months back, and I am just now getting around to doing it!  I needed to add something special to these plain white trays, so adding some gold and silver to match the color scheme in my apartment was the perfect idea.  Also, I was a little bored Saturday. ;-)

Supplies:
Gold spray paint

Silver spray paint

Masking tape

Trays

Create design on the tray with the masking tape

Spray tray and let dry completely

Repeat for 2nd tray...

I went over the trays with a second coat to ensure the color was even

After a few hours, carefully remove the tape to reveal the design!

Ta-da! Boring to glam in just a few steps!

Neon + Polka Dots

A couple of days ago I posted about currently loving neon.  Well instead of neon shorts (for now!), I found this flirty little neon skirt!  I definitely see this skirt being worn to work or on a date this summer.  Of course paired with a blazer or cardigan for work, and a chambray shirt, crisp white blouse, or pale neutral for a casual look.

You may or may not know I have a slight obcession with the color mint this season...let me explain.  I own a handbag, nailpolish, pants, blouse, shoes and now a sweater in the color.  HA!  The color is just so fresh and light and I love it!  Anyone else loving the color this season?  Or any other fave color you can't get enough of?

Glam Kitchen | Bacon Wrapped Chicken

I was looking for a recipe that was quick and easy to make for dinner the other night to eat while watching the NBA playoffs.  I came across this recipe for bacon wrapped chicken here and decided to give it a try.  These are perfect for appetizers or a meal if you add side dishes to it.  I made homemade mashed potatoes and sauteed some squash and zucchini as my sides.  For even more flavor, choose a dipping sauce like bbq sauce, honey mustard or ranch!

Note: I used turkey bacon

Friday's Fabulous Find: Neon Shorts

One trend that I am eager to try this season is NEON!  A pair of neon shorts is easily dressed up or down as you can see in the images I chose above.  Pair them with a neutral color blouse to tone down the bright shorts, or go all out with a bold hue!  This look is really fun and a great alternative from Spring's pastels and screams Summer!  Happy Friday everyone!

Continuing on with my print theme for the week, I found this dress on maj-or sale at The Limited over the past weekend.  I'm talking 40% off clearance price kinda sale, people!  Also, I am in love with my new bag as it is large enough to carry all my daily essentials, but structured enough so that everything's not all messily tossed around in there and I can find stuff readily!  Also, the pink and orange polka dots don't hurt either.  :)  Anyway, it's almost the weekend, so let's make it count!  Have any plans? I know my first thing will be to get a good solid 8 hours of sleep! haha!
